Wednesday 8th August 2018 - lots of news

Posted 11:30am
It's been two weeks - not sure why I have nnot made entries. A huge amount of work has been going on, and there is a lot panned tloo.  I recall someone online that I follow who runs a business, based online, who said in one of his postings that, although he knew it was not going to be easy, he would be posting at least one video, one facebook entry, and one twitter entry every day for a month. I like that attitude, and it is something we need to look to emulate.

Today we start out first every Ajani programme in the London Borough of Haringey with Haringey Recovery Serevice. We were introduced by one of our SHP users, and are very excited. It is one of the lottery fjunded courses, and we are running it for four sessios, plus our added value fitness sessions and trips.

We have sent off to the Council our report and funding sheet to expand to five Izzwalkz within the next twelve months. There is a new lottery fund around loneliness that could possibly pay for this too - and Luke and I are attending an event next Tuesday, hosted by VAI and the Council, where this is discussed.

It is terrific to be working with Luke over the next two months, funded by the lottery. I have actually been able to come off benefit in August and September on a full time dalary, and Luke is employed for two days a week. Last week was very good. We managed to prepare a new "health" session for the Ajani programme. Based around the "organs of the body". We also put together a good powerpoint to promote our programme to both Ingeus (a company based in Kings Cross who work with people unemployed who have had health iossues) and Brickworks Community Centre. We have also concentrated on getting the health centre course to start in September.  It's all a rush, and causes some stress.

The Monday fitness sessions are going really well, and we had our first double figure session two days ago. Dean is a terrific Personal Trainer, and we had three new people, one of whom said it was one of the best classes she had attended - no clique, everyone friendly, and tailored around all our needs.

Saturday sessions are still happening - even in this magnificent heat, and I am getting a lot our of it personally.

Lots more news to follow. I will be ensuring I start making daily entries on here. Yay!!!
