Luke and I have started to build a contact list for Corporate Social Responsibility contacts, as it sadly seem so appear that public sector funding is going to be nigh on impossible. We are start up, in a secotr that is notorious for cuts. Private sector looks our only option.
We believe we have a product that can offer corporate sponsors something in return, so remain hopeful. But it is a big job.

Izzwalkz CP celebrated its second birthday yesterday. I still recall our first walk two years ago, in partnership with Highbury Grange Medical Centre - four of us setting off into the unknown. As you can see from the photograph above - superbly taken by our own PT Dean - we were joined by  our Islington Mayor, in full regalia. He did the whole walk with us - including exercise - and even stayed for nibbles, cake, and tea in the Medical Centre afterwards.
Cameron, a local journalist, also met up with us, chatted to walkers and Mayor, and we are hopeful of a good write-up and feature.
We had a fabulous time, and a great turn out, with at least four or five regulars away. The support means a lot, and I honestly hope we can keep this venture up, expand to more walks, and help inspire many others to improving their activity and energy levels.

I am pleased to announce that our last year accounts have been professionally approved and have been delivered to Companies House. Naturally there was not a lot to them, and in fact there was a small loss incurred due to having to inject some personal money into the business, but it was important to get the paperwork completed, especially by an outside unbiased source.

We have approached the Sobell centre to see if they will allow us to use the Saturday Studio facility beyond November. We had 10 last week, and they have expressed their own desire to allow us to use the studio again, but the decision rests with the General Manager. We have asked if we can use the facility up to to the end of January 2019, and then review our options.

Finally, my eye is healing well following the operation on the 6th November. The sight is returning.

Tuesday 20th November 2018 - back to work following eye operation recovery

Hello all - all those great intentions at the start of November disappeared as my right eye retina detached a couple of weeks ago. The eye has been swollen,, inflamed, weepy, and taken longer than I would have wished to start recovering. In fact, it only really started opening up the last few days.

It has hampered work greatly, as reading,, typing, and general work has been difficult. But it is time to get back into the game. Deal with issues. Move forward.

It's not easy. Sadly, Haringey Recovery Services have not been promoting our Ajani course - meant to start tomorrow for four weeks - and we have had to cancel the day before. Leaves us in a perilous position, as we have to provide evidence to some funders. Not quite sure how we aree going to proceed - another challenge to face.

Luke and I will press on with corporate paperwork now. We must find a way to get money coming in to pay salaries.  The Universal Credit people have mucked up my application - and more wotk needed to get that sorted too.

Challenges ahead for HMHB.

Lots to put - which is why I have to do the daily posts I keep intending to make. Must do better.

A while ago, HMHB were lucky enough to meet Baroness Tanni Grey Thompson at the House of Lords. She recently tweeted out our GoFundMe page, which we then sent out to oveer 100 relevant people too. Astonishingly, we had NO money put in. Not a penny. What do wee have to do?

We met a reporter from the Hackney Gazette - Cameron - and we are hoping he will do a couple of stories on us. He is coming on a walk to do a story on that, but most importantly we are hoping for a feature on the lack of funding.

We have started a FREE gym studio session at the Sobell Centre - photo above. Hoping that takes off. Every Saturday from 9am to 10am.

I have had major eye surgery on a detached retina in my right eye - last year the same happened to my left. This one though is taking a lot longer to recover. Hence the lack of entries. Apologies.
