Friday 8th March 2019 - Barclays, BBC, Walk Feedback

I have written a lot lately about our bank balance - and how low it is. With Insurance renewal at the end of March it currently means the very last of my own money - which is not a lot - will have to be loaned to the business. So "desperation" is approaching.  I need to pay our PT for the two programmes in Hackney too - Luke and I were volunteers for them.

As earlier this week on the blog, we did a big twitter plea. One reply. Barclays, which is terrific. And we thank them for that. They expressed interest, and we sent off a request as per their suggestion, and hope that something can come from that.

I did find a contact online for BBC London, so called the number and managed to speak to someone. He said that we had to have something different, that was interesting and people would like to hear about.  Obviously, I am a little biased, but I do feel we have a strong story to tell, and the chance of the publicity and asking for sponsorship, would be amazing.  I completed an email, with links to media and social media, and again we are keeping everything crossed.  Without a cash injection we cannot function after May.

Finally, a wonderful piece of feedback from our Izzwalkz initiative.
David joined us a few months ago, and it was obvious he was having a tough time. We, as always, were welcoming, happy to chat, bring him into conversation, and overall show him that at least for an hour he could laugh and see positivity.
Well, last week he told the group that he had just started a 20 hour a week job for a supermarket, and that his new mindset was helped enormously by us. Just by being nice and kind, at a time when he was down, he says we really helped him improve in his thinking and his outlook with life.
Thanks so much David. This is why we do what we do. And this is why we deserve to get some funding. I hope we can.
