As we have just had our 151st walk, mathematics (for those who can calculate these things) would tell you we are approaching our third birthday. We at HMHB want it to be a real celebration.
We have therefore sent out a lot of invites to various organisations and people. Delighted to say that the Islington Mayor will be attending. This will be the third year on the trot this has happened. Both Una (year one) and David (year two) both said they enjoyed the event very much. We are hopeful for a hattrick of praise.
We have also invited the local paper to come down, do a little write up, take some pics, and give us some more publicity. The more the merrier.
But we have also invited many local organisations - such as Mind, Age UK, etc - to pop along and enjoy the walk. Hopefully some will come. It would be great to have a big photo of lots of walkers to attend.
We will also, in the next couple of weeks, be doing some video feedback with walkers and hopefully get those online. We have not actually updated the webpage for ages, and it would be terrific to be able to get comments and feedback from walkers on just why people come back again and again to walk with us. And we know that some people are going through, or have experienced, some awful personal health problems.
I feel so privileged to have started this. And I pray that this birthday is not the last. It is all down to funding now. :-)
